Peter Johnson

After living a rich and rewarding life, we sadly announce the passing of a wonderful husband,father, and grandfather. Peter passedaway peacefully on Friday, January 20, 2012 at the Juravinski Hospital. Peter will be dearly missed by his wife Cathy, his children Greg, Kevin, Scott (Danielle), Cathy (Andy), Tracie (Albert)and Tom (Kylie). He was the proud Papa of 8 grandchildren, Jewels, Harper, Joshua, Gabriel, Isaac, Isabella, Quinn andAddison. He will be remembered lovinglyby his 3 sisters Anne, Meim and Faith. Peter was the hospital administrator for the Henderson General Hospital for 31 yrs. He will be remembered for his quiet strength, caring, and humble devotion to many local and international charitable organizations. His legacy includes a founding member the Virtual YProgram of the Hamilton/Burlington YMCA and The Canadian Friends of Hopital Albert Schweitzer-Haiti. Thank you to the nurses, doctors and support staff at the Juravinski Hospital for their compassionate care,especially Dr. Anne Benger and Nurse Wendy. We also thank Dr. Alistair Ingram, Nurse Kristen and the home hemodialysis team at St. Joseph’s Hospital for their care. According to Pete’s wishes, cremation has taken place. A Celebration of Life will take place at the Hamilton Golf and Country Club on Saturday January 28th from 2-5 p.m. In lieu of flowers, the family requests that donations be made in Pete’s memory to The Canadian Friends of Hopital Albert Schweitzer-Haiti (http://www.canadianhashaiti.ca/),or the charity of your choice
